Had a pretty good day today. Started off weeding the melon greenhouses in the morning. Not as bad as it sounds, as we had jagged-edged hoes to overturn them.

After that, we filled more bags with sand for the doors and hammered some nails in the greenhouse door jambs.

Halfway through filling the sacks with sand, the farmer lifted one of them and said it wasn't full enough. We decided to teach the dictatorial, oppressive swine a lesson by filling all of the sacks so full that they were virtually impossible to move. Particularly stupid, as usual, because it is we who will have to move them, not him.

In the afternoon I laid piping to hold down the doors with the farmer then joined the rest to lay new irrigation piping along some very recently planted furrows.

Today we discovered two things of great interest: 1) our location―70 miles(ish) from the Dead Sea and almost on the Jordanian border (and mine-fields!); 2) the moshav boozer is open all day on Christmas Day!

Didn't feel at all tired on returning home from ten hours' work, so things are definitely looking up.
