A great, relaxing day. As usual, the weather was fantastic, so Kathy came up with the idea of going to a posh hotel with a swimming pool. Olly found out from Tourist Information that the Spray View Hotel allowed non-residents to use their pool if they bought a light meal from there.

I had a really tasty chicken curry for only Z$8. It was larger than the one at the Wimpy for Z$10.50. Everybody else's meals were better value too.

After a long spell of drinking Coke, swimming, sunbathing and reading, we set off back into town. Olly and Diane wanted to consult a fortune teller, but after a while hanging around outside his hut, it was clear that he wasn't going to turn up, so we made our way to the railway station.

The train was nearly an hour late, which was a bit annoying; but when it did arrive at least it was fairly decent inside. Unlike the revolting TAZARA train, it had running water and ice-cold beer (at Z$2 a bottle). The journey was great. After a pleasant dinner, accompanied by K+D and a bottle of chilled white wine, we went back to our compartment and drank beer with a guy from York called Dave and a guy from Michigan called Mark.

Because we had paid an extra Z$4, the four of us had the six-berth compartment all to ourselves, so there was plenty of space.
