Got up late and headed straight for John & Joe's for a cheap—but nutrition free—meal of meat-pie and chips.

Apart from watching a very weird film entitles Jealous at the Kenya Cinema Plaza, we did some business things and some shopping. We got our Indian visas, some socks, some parcel paper for the films, and some aerogrammes. I wrote a letter to Mum and Dad in the Hilton, which was all very civilised.

In the evening I had a wash using one of the buckets of cold water lying about the place. I can only describe the experience as exhilarating.

After sorting out the films and our crappy mosquito nets, we walked down to the Uhuru Park Restaurant as we had remembered it being pretty good value for money. We got a reasonably-sized Steak Diane plus a litre of beer each for 182ksh. Not bad at all.

Had a great night's sleep due to a stolen mattress and my yellow mat. I also felt a lot more relaxed with the protection of my mosquito net.
